Frequently Asked Questions:
1. Are all photographs taken by Carlson Photographic Services available through the website?
No. Depending upon the contractual agreement not all customers will be able to view their photographs online. However, this option is available upon request.
2. How come I can’t view any of the photographs?
All customers’ photographs are either address specific or password protected; it is the customer’s option to redistribute the password to their family and friends for online viewing of their pictures.
3. Why are the picture densities so light or dark on my monitor? “OR” Why do the pictures have a cyan, magenta or yellow appearance?
Could be that your monitor is not properly calibrated. In order to ensure the very best results so that your screen is in a sense “true view”, you will need to colour calibrate your screens with a spyder (one of many professional monitor calibration tools). Keep in mind your pictures will print with the colour and density metadata corrections that we have already assigned to them.
4. Are there any restrictions on my use of the Carlson Photographic Services photographs that I have purchased?
Yes. While Carlson Photographic Services offers great freedoms and a wide ranges of uses, we do not allow for commercial redistribution of our photographs, or allow the use of our photos within products that are mass distributed in any type of archive format.
5. Does Carlson Photographic Services release their copyright when photos and DVDs are given to customers?
No, the copyright is retained but liberal use of the images is permitted, so customers can reprint for distribution to family and friends.
